Spring Carrot Bundles
I belong to a hyper-local Facebook group in which members can gift items they no longer want or need. Items can be almost anything-clothes, supplies, tools, decor, services, electronics, even food. When I saw a post for a bag of Hobby Lobby Easter eggs and carrots, I immediately commented to express my interest. The poster chose me, and I happily picked up my treasures.
While the black and white checked pattern on the eggs and carrots was cute, it wasn’t really my style. I’m saving the eggs for a future project, but the carrots were begging for an immediate makeover. I was all too willing to oblige.
You can see the makeover in this video, or you can read all the details below.
SUPPLIES:

Various fabrics (Hobby Lobby)
Jute twine (Hobby Lobby)
Various greenery (Joanne Fabrics)
Spanish Moss (Michaels)
HOW-TO:
I carefully pulled out the green raffia on the top of the carrots. I then peeled off the black and white fabric from the Styrofoam carrot form. Using the black and white checked fabric as a pattern, I traced the pattern onto my orange fabric then cut it out. I wrapped my fabric onto the Styrofoam carrot and adhered it with hot glue.

Once the carrot was neatly wrapped in the orange fabric, I glued two types of greenery on the top where the raffia used to be. I repeated the process with a second carrot.
I decided to make a bundle with the two carrots. I adhered them together with hot glue, then wrapped them a few times with jute twine. I then ripped strips of three different fabrics to make a bow. I topped off the carrot bundle with the bow.
I styled two bundles on a dough bowl, but these would also be sweet on a tiered tray, a basket, or just on their own. What do you think of this thrifty flip? Comment below and let me know how you would have made these carrots over.
